Chris:
Thanks for looking and the observations. To be honest, I've only now looked at
a couple of them at that level of detail. I'd expect some artifacts from the
onboard jpeg engine. Also, most of the time the lens was wide open, so I
suspect there's some loss of detail there, too.

Leaving aside ultimate resolution - and these are likely never going to be
printed - the EM-5 is a clear step (or two) up on my OM+Portra. I would never
have got handneld photos with that set up. Not havimg to use a tripod is REALLY
liberating. I could, in retrospect, have dialled down the ISO to 800 or 1600,
stopped down the lens and used a tripod for better resolution. I will play with
some of the RAW files to see what they're like.

Does the EM-5 match the pro's FF Nikon? No way, I'm sure. The APS-C cameras the
others were using? Cannot say, but I suspect it's as good. .Does it beat MY
Portra scans of such scenes? Absolutely. Is it easier to use than my OM in low
light? Yes (heresy, I know). It exceeds what I was expecting. So, I'm a happy
camper.

I held the pro's Nikon + 70-200 for "fun". The EM-5 + 45mm + L bracket , in
comparison, is tiny and a featherweight. Lighter than an OM+100/2 even. As I
get older I'm recognizing that the adage "the best camera is the one you have
with you" is true. I'm much more likely to have the EM-5 along now.

Thanks for that collection. I enjoyed the tour and it was clearly a wonderful
show. The images look fantastic at normal viewing size and pretty good at
half-size.

The original sizes show a fair amount of evidence of the camera's work to
reduce noise. I didn't study them all, nor did I look very closely except to
note the blurring of detail to show that Olympus has not managed to overcome
completely the problems of sensor size.

I should be very interested to see how similar RAW images looked after your own
processing.
