Ken, Before I switched to an IMac my main desktop computer was running XP
professional. It gave me very little trouble. My laptop, which is presently
semi-retired, runs Vista. I have come close to destroying it on more than 1
occasion! I am considering drastic surgery, putting in a 240GB SSD and
installing Windoze 7. At the moment I do not use it, as it is so Slow!! Trying
to decide if it will be cost effective on a 17" widescreen Dell about 6 years
old which has had Very Little use.......Would of coure prefer a MacBook but
cannot afford or justify it.

We've got two Lenovos in the house running Windows 7 and a couple of Vista
machines and two XPs. I get along with the XP machines well, but the Vista
os just about drives me to drink. Windows 7 has been outstanding.
Absolutely fine. The thing about Windows is that every other version is a
disaster.
