No, it was cancelled. The weather was too bad for the team to practise in
Lincs so they decamped to Anglesey for a period.
But I am confident that the visit will happen before too long.
I'm rather looking forward to a bit of Hawk action in better weather; I did
have a little fantasy that the weather would be too bad for formation but
adequate for a bit of singleton flying. My last trip in a Hawk was in 1997, an
instrument training sortie from Valley to Manchester and back before the fleet
was grounded and my refresher course cancelled (refresher flying after 4 years
on the ground in MOD). I managed to go straight to the Tornado (it being
pretty easy to fly and therefore not requiring the refresher flying in a Hawk)
and lost the chance to have more ageing swinger fun in the little jet.
I'll report back when I have another date for the Arrows.
