If the Garmin is a pocket style unit with AA batteries, do note that the TTFF takes a lot shorter with new batteries. Yes, the Nexus (non cell version) uses WiFi to get "in the neighborhood". The Android software will exploit the WiFi position as well as last-known WiFi location. See the following Wikipedia entry on TTFF for a good description of what happens when the GPS receivers try to get their position. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_to_first_fix AG (Omnipresent) Schnozz -- Ken Norton ken@xxxxxxxxxxx http://www.zone-10.com -- _________________________________________________________________ Options: http://lists.thomasclausen.net/mailman/listinfo/olympus Archives: http://lists.thomasclausen.net/mailman/private/olympus/ Themed Olympus Photo Exhibition: http://www.tope.nl/ |
