This is one of several species which, speaking in geological timescale
terms, is practically extinct because it is trapped in a marginally suitable
habitat by a surrounding of unsuitable habitat.
To see that poor struggling specimen gives no indication at all of the
potential the species has to become magnificent tall thick trees - given a
suitable environment. They can be quite majestic, I've seen them grown so
in New Zealand.
