I cook up turkeys several times a year. Sometimes I put them in the
smoker, sometimes roast them in the oven. I do tend to shop the
specials and get one for the freezer when i can score one for a
fraction of the price of any other protein. If the price is really
good, I'll get a couple of them.
BTW, a neat trick I've learned recently. Cook the thing up a day in
advance, carve it and put in in a roasting pan and douse with chicken
broth (or plain chicken stock). Next day reheat and serve.
Oh, most importantly - Bacon. Cover the bird with bacon. "Bacon" and
"42" is the same thing.
