The first one had a strange effect on me.  Probably because it's so 
large the out of focus area first grabbed my eyes.  But then it became 
clear that the real subject was in the foreground and over several 
seconds my eyes gradually adjusted focus until the foreground became 
quite sharp.  I've never had such an experience with a photo before.
