Steve. Was not intended as Olympus bashing....l think that the D5 is a
cracking camera but if it not available for customers to handle they
will end up with Nikon/Canon/Panasonic instead
My friendly dealer says he has customers who would buy Olympus from him
but end up with other makes cos. Olympus will not supply him at trade
as cheaply as Argos (think lower quality Best Buys) is able to supply
to customers.
Also cost and availability of accessories is prohibitive.

Just to counter the anti-Olympus slant, the local camera store here in
the northern Philadelphia suburbs has survived while most of the
in-city shops have folded. It's always crowded - and they carry a
respectable line of Olympus (not as much as Canon and Nikon - where you
can rent 400mm and larger lenses for the weekend - but respectable
nonetheless). I buy my Olympus stuff there as they are usually a few
dollars cheaper than B&H. They do a decent Olympus business because
they actually care to promote it a bit.
