I exchanged family genealogy material with a cousin today, and received a copy
of an image that I did not know existed. This was a formal portrait of my
great-grandmother, who died in 1889.
This is typical of the studio portraits that I have seen from that era, but
also gives me a hint of why my hair began to recede by age 20. ;~)
