Coupala options come to mind. If modifying an inexpensive tripod
collar off the shelf doesn't seem workable, Srb Griturn will
construct a custom optimized one for you. I have found them very
proficient and pleasant.

The Viv S1 90-180/4.5 macro is a very cool but complex looong lens
which produces a very nice rendition. Jeff K got me interested in this
beasty (found one too) and I am very happy to have/use one. It has a
good sized
tripod mount which it requires. Sounds like you may wish to use focus
stacking with wider aperture and faster SS.
My 2 cents, Macro Mike
