Be careful the way you interpret specs. 480Mbps happens to be the spec
for USB 2.0. Actual max throughput in practice is more like 30MB per
second. But Apple says later Macs use the PCI Express bus to talk to SD
cards. That's faster but I don't know how much or what other traffic
might be on the bus when you're trying to read the card. They're
non-committal. They just say it's faster than USB but now how much.
But it should be substantial and probably faster than any currently
