USB 2.0 has a practical upper limit of about 30 MB/sec. A 300X card is
claiming 45 MB/sec and a 400X card is claiming 60 MB/sec [multiply by
0.15 to get rate in MB]. So your cards are claiming (ahem) performance
as much as twice the speed of your interface. Whether either card or
USB interface is performing at the expected levels is a different
question but your cards are clearly faster than your USB reader. A USB
3.0 adapter is potentially capable of up to 400 MB/sec. That's probably
the best solution if you can do it.
