Moose, do make sure you power up and do a couple full pops every month
with that flash. It keeps the capacitor formed.
I bought a box-o-bits which included a Vivitar 285HV. This flash
probably hadn't been used in 10 years. It took me a long time to get
it to work well again. Recovery involved a lot of gentle
charge/discharges until it finally settled in and worked. Otherwise,
if I just tried to hammer it with full charge/discharges, I would have
fried it.
