I didn't realize it at first but it is an LED monitor. The real reason
I bought it was that it's an IPS panel and has very high review ratings.
At this point I'm not sure if its properly calibrated or not. What I
couldn't do was force it to change brightness levels to near black using
the manual controls. But it's clear that it can do a very pure black
when operating normally.
Skipping the white balance portion of the setup and choosing a pre-set
value from the monitor's menu allowed me to run through the calibration
portion without any further trouble. The picture looks great and I
don't want to send it back. I'm just unsure about how accurate it
really is.
