Although the details are different, I've been going through some similar stuff.
I've wondered for some time when it
might occur that I go someplace pretty without the need to take pictures of it.
I've also wondered when or if revisiting
and rephotographing the same places over and over will wear thin.

Here too, although I still enjoy creating my 'signature' crisp, detailed
images, I have found myself looking for another
way to represent some subjects. Sometimes, the 'straight' image doesn't seem to
really convey the deeper sense of the
subject, leaving me feeling less than satisfied with what I've created. It seem
the 'deeper spot' has been hinting to me
about alternatives, and I've tried to listen. It's an odd process, trying to do
something, in this case, 'seeing',
differently.
Here's one recent result - that I think I may like. Well, OK, I like it, but
I'm not sure how. Feel free to "run
screaming or 'purchase' as [your] hearts and heads dictate."
