Hi Rick,
I have an M42 2X that I used with my Pentax lenses, and it was tolerable,
but not good. This time, for use with my Leica-R lenses, I bought the older
Leica-R 2X that was matched to the R lenses. These are inexpensive,
compared to the later version which can run around $600 and up. This was my
first try, and the light was poor, resulting in a very slow shutter speed.
To compensate, I applied a little too much sharpening. I hope I can find a
compromise, because my birds are not trained, and will disappear if I move
in too close.
