Actually, I rode a German bike for years. Absolutely loved it. BMW R90/6.
Smooth as a buttered baby butt. <g>
That said, I'm not a big fan of them now, either styling or price.
I think the true Harley sound comes from the factory, but I also believe it's
too loud. Not that there's anything wrong with that. <g> I've always liked the
way British bikes sound, but make no mistake, I won't buy anything until I've
fired it up and put it on the road to get the real notion of how it sounds.
