I was happy when I managed to afford a large print from KM, or any
other positive film. Printing positive film here was not only
expensive, it was almost impossible.

Hadn't checked in ages, but seems one can still get Cibachromes. I 
wonder how they compared to prints from scanned slides? I recall from 
the ones I've seen that they were very nice indeed.   No where is that 
slide I wanted to
get printed?
