Yup, if you want to see how things like fine detail are captured without
converting the Raw file, shoot Raw + biggest,
finest JPEG.
The embedded JPEGs in S100 CR2 files seem to be particularly bad that way. At
first, I'd take a quick look at the CR2 in
FS and go "Yuck, I missed that one!". Now I know to either get large-fine JPEGs
along with Raw from the camera or wait
for conversion to judge detail IQ.
