I have no dog in this fight. I find it hard to imagine ever being in the kind
of situations you and Candace describe.
I'm only suggesting possible alternatives. Practical possibilities where
perfection isn't available.
First, I can't imagine doing event or portrait photography.
Second, I can't imagine offering the client more than a couple of choices for
each shot/pose, at least with me involved
in their process of choice. Life is way too short.
Don't some photographers doing that sort of work give the clients modern
versions of proof sheets - CDs or password
protected private web galleries? Let 'em stew on their own time?
(Yeah, yeah, I don't know the business. I suppose they steal the images if they
aren't watermarked, gripe about
watermarks, and steal 'em anyway. ... and so on. Didn't I already say I find it
hard to imagine being in this business?)
