I have just tried this in Aperture and it allows up to 4 at full res, if 
you select more it drops some so that only 4 are displayed at full res. 
It also works really well with a second display, however if I invest in 
new displays they will be identical, I am frightened to count the lost 
time and wasted ink and paper trying to get my two monitors to match ;-(
