Yes! You can just use it as a glorified image browser by essentially pointing it at a directory on a hard drive. I'm working with a customer on some interesting custom prints. We used Lightroom for everything. It was very cool, but the one problem we kept running into was the "We've seen this before" factor. Every preset was exciting, yet already overused. I said "OK, which one of these is SOMETHING like what you are looking for?" Then I started whipping sliders around until we got something that looked unique enough to proceed. This is a double-edged sword.
