Agreed. Haven't run into any 8-bit limits in my experience with Photoshop. I do
recall some in Elements.
Got the upgrade e-mail for PWP and chucked it. Haven't had it on my system in
years. Don't miss it. But I will say it was a good piece of the path to where I
am now (which is far short of where I would like to be). PWP gave me a lot of
basic knowledge that carried over to Photoshop when I made the transition.
I still think Lightroom is on the path to replace Photoshop for photographers.
I got one of those wonder coupons from Adobe and bought the program because it
would have been foolish not to as the price they gave me. It's quite a piece,
and if I were starting out now, or ready to move on from one of the smaller
programs, Lightroom would be where I would likely go. It's much more intuitive
than Photoshop, but it does have its limitations. Haven't use Apple's Aperture,
but I understand it's Lightroom like.
