There have been several comments about ways this image could be better.

I found them interesting and experimented.

Cleaning up the background involved both noise reduction and elimination of the 
light streak on the left.

Blooms were removed using a mask and the same background as in the rest of the 
image.

Simulation of less DOF was done using both masked blurring and masked 
deconvolution to move the apparent focal plane 
forward and make apparent DOF shallower.

Greater DOF uses various amounts of deconvolution and graduated masks.

I rather like having blank space on the left, but think the amount is 
excessive. The crop was assisted by considering 
the rule of thirds.
