Moose,
I guess my position is best described as reluctant to change something that
is working fine. Like you, I use the system that is furnished with a new
machine. Since I'm a tightwad, I have not purchased a new machine in some
time.
My wife uses a Dell refurb as her recreational machine. Some of her
favorite software packages go back to DOS. This machine came with that
despised operating system, Windows ME. For her, it performs just fine. It
occasionally informs her that she can't run a certain program under Windows,
but works fine with a restart of the software.
When I do have to replace my computer, I will accept whatever is selling at
that time. I understand that Windows 8 is under development at this time.
