Wow, that sounds parsimonious compared to my O2 Simplicity 20 tariff which
gives me 600 minutes, 500 texts and unlimited UK data. But it does cost
£20.42 monthly, and I am committed for the length of the contract - 30 days.

I must have signed up on a good day, because I haven't seen similar
unlimited data deals for a while now.

Viewranger is excellent for the price, with plenty of free maps (including
detailed worldwide street maps), as well as paid for OS maps if needed. I
can also recommend Anquet for PC use - full range of OS maps, and some
foreign equivalents, with regular half price offers.

Thanks for those points, Brian.

I'm on O2's Simplicity tariff, but it looks as if the tariffs have been
changed since I started mine nearly a year ago. 50Gb covers some internet
use and all my emails, bar the Olympus List, which would probably swamp my
mail box, in numbers if not in total data.

Viewranger looks good, but there's a free walking map app, for both iPhone
and iPad, UK Map. Well, you pay for the app, but all the maps are free.
You download them when you need them. They are not OS maps, but there's a
fair amount of detail nonetheless.
