What Moose says.
I too have a 3025, but I don't use it as frequently as does Moose (!). If
you slacken all the "short knobs" - locking nuts - the thing collapses into
a heap. If it is what you really want, you can have it. Advantage - no
in-built QR system, so you can do as you will.

Look closer before leaping. It does not have "short knobs instead of long
handles". The Manfrotto "3D" designs are quite different from the
pan-tilt-rotate heads with handles. A name like "Free-Form" or some such
would be more informative, I think.
