I too keep hearing claims about how sturdy the M8/M9 is etc. and I do not
believe them. At least my own experience is different. My M8 had to go back to
Solms for repair just because of some sweat that dripped on it while I cycled
along the beach promenade with the camera around my neck so that I could stop
and take pics whenever I wanted.
After that experience, I make sure my M8 does not get exposed to any liquids,
man-made or otherwise. In the Netherlands I used my K5 and Fuji GW690. The K5
is reasonably rain-resistant, and the Fuji, being 100% mechanical, was of no
concern either.
