I've known of several people with M8s and M9s who do not baby them at
all and frequently subject them to whatever nature hands out. They've
had zero problems. I've looked pretty closely at an M8 and from what I
could see it looked tight enough. But I think it's the price/risk
thing that bothers most people.

Me? If conditions are too wild and wooly, I'll just use the E-1.
