The offical Olympus one uses stainless steel on the lens mount while the
third parties use brass with chrome plate. The key is the three steel
springs on the offical one (like regular OM mount), they just last forever
without fatigue. For the OM-EOS adapters I'm using, I have to reform the
springs once in a while especially after using heavy lens.

John,
Just bought one of these, from Fotodiox in the US - advertised on Amazon.UK,
pretty much as you describe.
Works well, particularly like the 100/f2 mounted on my E-PL1 (will post a
sample when I get time).
Cost £32.46 (including postage) - not sure what the official oly one does
for the extra £120... :-)
Regards - Martyn
