Well, after several weeks, Fotodiox has their gear back and I have my money
back. It was a long, slightly dark journey.
Bad gear and sloppy customer service was what I experienced. Pleasant enough,
but didn't deliver on promises and engaged
in sloppy thinking that I had to carefully correct.
It may be that those who buy their pro gear have better experiences. Guess who
won't ever be doing that? The whole
sordid story is below, in case any Fotodiox fan doesn't believe. Unfortunately,
all top posted, so it starts at the bottom.
I now have a Nikon to EOS adapter from another seller. It has a similar
problem, but just different enough that I'll be
able to correct it with Dremel and/or file.

Subject: Re: Fotodiox Return Label
Hi Lillian,
We're getting closer to resolving the problems with this transaction. However:
1. There is actually no return label attached to your email.
2. You've done the math wrong.
My original payment for the two items was $28.42.
Fotodiox "refunded" $2.41 to pay me for return shipping of both items. So I had
still paid $28.42, and you folks had the
items.
Fotodiox sent me a second Nikon to EOS adapter, which fit worse than the first
one.
You are now refunding my purchase price, keeping the camera sleeve and having
me return the second adapter.
So - You owed me $28.42.
You refunded $26.01, leaving a balance due me of $2.41.
As there was no return label attached to your email, I don't know if it is to
be prepaid.
If the label is prepaid, you still owe me $2.41
If the label is not prepaid, you owe me return postage of $1.71, plus $2.41,
for a total of $4.12. (And at today's gas
prices, should add a dollar for gas to the Post Office.)
Thanks,
Moose

Dear fotodiox_gear,
Hi folks,
I mailed this to you on 3/24, USPS First Class mail, as you asked. I couldn't
enclose the receipt from the PO, as the
package was already sealed. The amount should be right there on the package. IF
not, I can send an image of it.
However, it's been over two weeks, and I haven't heard anything from you about
the two improperly fitting items. Did you
receive them? What's happening with replacing them with properly fitting items?
If correct replacements aren't possible, I'd be happy with a refund for either
or both. I'm particularly eager for the
Nikon F to EOS mount adapter. Spring has sprung, shooting season is here and I
want to compare some lenses.
I'd really appreciate an update.
Thanks,
Moose

neoprene Zoom Camera Cover Sleeve for Canon 5D,Mark II (390087609740)
Hi Jeff,
As you asked when we talked Friday afternoon, I am returning these items.
As to the Nikon to EOS adapter:
You said you had just discovered that your most recent batch of these adapters
were variable; some would fit the AIS
Nikkor lenses properly so the aperture ring moves freely, without binding
against the adapter, some not. You said you
would find one that fits properly and send it back to me.
As to the neoprene sleeve:
I told you that the one I received is much too small for the 5D(II), but there
are no size markings on either the item
itself or the plastic bag it was packed in.You said to send it back, so you
could check the size.
You noted that the medium size fits a Nikon D700, and should fit the 5D. A
check on-line shows the D700 to be taller,
but narrower than the 5D & 5DII, so it seems likely that I have a Small size
and a Medium will fit.
If you find that what I have is a Small, you will return a Medium to me. If
what I have is actually a Medium, I don?t
want a Large, as it has a large space at the bottom to accommodate the big pro
cameras or camearas like the 5D with
battery grip, which would leave me with a large, rempty, part flopping on the
bottom.
If that turns out to be the case, I would appreciate a refund for the sleeve.
Speaking of refunds, we didn?t talk about return mail costs. As the return is
for defects in merchandise and size, I
believe you should refund my mailing cost. Looks like First Class mail will be
$2.41.
Priority Mail would be $5.83, picked up here. I do have an errand to run near
the Post Office where parking is free, so
I can drop it off for only the $2.41
Thanks,
Moose

Dear dreammoose,
Please contact tech support at 847-201-4623 ext 2# for Jeff or 4# for Kelvin.
You should be able to attach the Nikon
lenses. Speaking to someone over maybe easier to help trouble shoot the problem.
Sincerely,

Dear fotodiox_gear,
Re: this item and neoprene Zoom Camera Cover Sleeve for Canon 5D,Mark II
(390087609740)
I sent you an email to support@xxxxxxxxxxxx that you should have received on
Tues morning, 3/15 and have received no
reply or acknowledgment.
I didn't send it via eBay because of their 1000 character limit.
The quick summary is that the Nikon to EOS adapter doesn't seem to fit Nikon AI
lenses properly and the neoprene sleeve
is much too small for my 5D (same size as 5DII in your listing).
Far more detail in the original email.
I just ant to make sure you got my message and will be responding.
