Actually, that's the quote that I was paraphrasing. You've come full circle.
I had it attributed to P.T. Barnum, in my head, but a quick search indicated
that it is most commonly attributed to
Lincoln. Barnum was apparently quoting Lincoln, with or without attribution, if
he said it at all anywhere but in my
imagination.
BTW, Barnum wasn't the first to say "There's a Sucker Born Every Minute",
either, nor was W.C. Fields.
