In the mid-50s, our only access was, of course, over-the-air broadcasting.
I put up a stack of three Yagis, one for each Nashville VHF station
operating at that time. That served me well. I could never get UHF from
Nashville, but could receive Huntsville, AL UHF clear enough to provide
alternative channels. Now I live in a vast wasteland with no over-the-air
availability at all. But, all is not lost. We now have fiber to the
premises, providing telephone, TV and Internet. Such is progress.
