Not specifically with mirror lens shots, Chuck, but with generally
low-contrast washed-out images (hey, it was the way it was, don't just
assume I overexposed it) it is pretty trivial to improve things in PS - copy
all to a new layer, then set the layer blending options to mode "multiply"
and adjust the opacity to suit. Then post it to allow the Moosification to
be applied ;-)

Subject: [OM] Orion 500/5.6, was: Zuiko 500/8 mirror
I don't have the Zuiko (which is very highly rated for mirrors) but your
mention of the Zuiko reminds me that I do have an Orion 500/5.6. This lens
was primarily sold as a spotting scope but is designed to take a T-adapter
so can be used photographically as well.
I've only ever used it once as a lens and was disappointed by its poor
showing on contrast. Actually, that's not terribly surprising given that
it's an f/5.6 which means larger secondary mirror, more diffraction and
lower contrast. But what I have never done is try it on the 5D.
Fixing the contrast problem in digital post processing should be easy.
I don't mean to steal this thread but wonder if anyone has used post
processing to fix contrast problems with mirror lens shots. The Zuiko's
high rating includes high contrast for a mirror lens. But my Orion is
hardly the only mirror lens to suffer from low contrast.
