That seems a little harsh. In my international travels, I see that the good
ole USA is well advanced in the diversity area. Our gypsies are free to
travel and generally carry on their trades and practices without much
interference. Most US cities have a multiplicity of ethnic restaurants and
groceries. My mid sized mid-southwest city has a cariety of hispanic, asian
and other places to eat, buy food, and shop. There are at least three
buddhist temples.

That's right! Why, in some communities, you can't even find a Wendys,
whereas other communities have yet to get a Taco Bell!
The official and unofficial US stance on cultural diversity has been "The
Great Melting Pot" -- in other words, it is not really tolerated.
Oh sure, you'll see your quaint little ethnic festival here and there, but
then everyone goes home to their TV set for their multi-hour daily dose of
self-inflicted cultural indoctrination.
