dark, dry place, and hope they will last
a few more years, as they've only been in bright, direct light for a few

It would be easy enough to keep track. Scan them every so often and compare the
results.
Wolf now offers a reflective 4x5" one on Fuji Crystal Archive, which I suppose
will be better.

How is one to know? The only way I can see is to buy a bunch and measure them
with an expensive piece of lab equipment.
Wolf's targets are the least expensive. As I understand it, they are printed in
batches all at once, then samples are
measured to create the correction file. I know that's accurate enough for me. I
suspect it is accurate enough even for
your more finely attuned color sense.
