OK, $86 per shot. Figure a half dozen shots per project. With
ancillary costs, let's mark things up to $1000 per project for
film/processing. Compare that now, to the rental cost of the top-dog
digital camera on the market. Yup. $1000 per day.
It seems high to us hacks, but when you consider that the picture is
used for high-end photography commanding high-end prices, that $86 per
shot really isn't all that bad. Actually, compared to production costs
on a movie set, that $86 per shot is peanuts.
