That explanation makes a lot of sense too.
In regards to my dynamic range comment, a brief expounditation: When
a CMOS-based sensor is pushed to the boost ISOs, there is a loss of
dynamic range and also a non-linear reduction in the saturation of
some colors as well as a tint shift. For this specific pair of
photographs I actually like the effect that this higher ISO shooting
can do.
For web-display, once you reduce the image size, all that noise in the
original image is a non-issue.
