Sometimes when I come in from a shoot where I've been filling up
camera cards, I recall fondly the old 4x5 days when I'd leave the
house with a maximum of ten sheets of film, usually 5 Velvia and 5
Kodak Ektachrome VS (?). Which I used depended on the dominant colors
in the shot. Greens, yellows, browns (forest shots, for example) were
almost always shot on Velvia. Rocks, water and sky, on Kodak.
I still think about 4x5 discipline when I'm out, but there's a certain
seductive quality about mashing that release button as many times as
you see fit. <g>
