The photo (one of many) was taken in part of the living-room of the 'new'
house. I needed the shortest focal-length lens I could fit on the E-1, as I
was having problems getting far enough away from bouncy 7-year-olds and
seeing around couches etc. I do have a Samyang 18-24 zoom but opted for
the 21mm. I do have a 16mm f/2.8, but it's a Sigma fisheye. Wouldn't look
good with straight lines involved.
Remember that 21mm on 35mm film equates to 42mm on the E-1. I started
out the evening with a 50mm lens but 100m equivalent was giving just head
shots:-(
3200asa, 1/30 second, VERY noisy, ran it through FastStone once to sort
out colour (ended up quite accurate), and through Neat Image twice to get
rid of noise - and although the final result is nothing to write home about, at
least I gave it a shot, and it's much better that what came straight from the
camera.
Bouncy kids are dynamite to try and photograph in that sort of light.
Thanks for looking :-)
Brian Swale.
