Hi all,
I have a friend who has bought an iMAC and SnowLeopard crashes a lot of times.
He bought the computer in an Apple local shop and he upgraded the computer from
4 to 8 GB. I told him that I was almost sure the guys from the shop replaced
the Apple memory and put another third party memory. I have heard that Apple
always uses in their computers Samsung, Micron, Nanya and Hynix memory. It
would be possible to know which memory was taking the computer before replacing
the factory memory for these new memory modules?
He tested the memory with TechTool Pro 5 and the memory doesn´t pass the test.
It is reporting Memory Failure! I would be very pleased if someone could tell
me which manufacturer is related with the code 0x855D. It´s impossible to find
it in internet.
I am writing this here as I know several people from this group uses MAC.
My Early MacPro 3,1 has 8 GB 800 MHz of Micron memory. Memory manufacturer:
0x802C
My MacBook Pro 3,1 has 2 GB 667 MHz of Nanya memory. Memory manufacturer:
0x7F7F7F0B00000000
I would really appreciate if all of you could check your memory as I want to
create a list of Apple memory suppliers.
Go to about this MAC --> More info --> Memory --> and write down the Memory
Manufacturer code:
Thank you very much in advance.
