At least I'll bet you haven't, as it only grows on parts of Mt. Diablo
and can be seen only in the spring. Two other images of it, in different
light, flank it in the gallery.
The quail image was just a bonus, as we went for the wildflowers, and
quite wonderful they were. Now I have the images - and only need an
expert to tell me what they are. :-)
Actually, a few were either fully or partly past their prime and buds
showed others to come. A real survey would probably require weekly
visits for at least two months, maybe more.
