I need new eye glasses, I bought some plastic ones about five years sago
but was very dissapointed with the coatings which scratched relatively
eassily so reverted back to my glass photochromic lenses.
With 5 boys and an active life I need tough ones, This time I was
thinking of getting rimless ones and asked about tough lenses. the
assistant quoted polycarbonate with photochromic capabilities, however
on reading on wikepedia I see that polycarbonate does not have the best
optical characteristics and also has a tendency for chromatic
abberation, I don't know if this is a problem in general use. I seem to
recall Zeiss announcing some lens material as scratch resistant as glass
but haven't seen any reviews
Has anyone recently studied this recently and have some recommendations
? Thanks in advance
