Larry,
I knew I had seen that somewhere. On page 80 of the E-1 manual, it says,
and I quote, "If the number of storable pictures exceeds 1999, 1999 is
displayed on the control panel."
It is implied that, once the remaining capacity gets below 1999, the reading
will decrease normally.
