Exactly. The plastic 50/1.8 looks and feels like it may fall apart at
any moment. But it doesn't. The optics are indeed excellent and the AF
perfectly adequate. Incredible optical value - but the hood is extra.
I took all these existing light shots in mostly very dim light with 5D
and 50/1.8, almost all @ ISO 3200.
