I did the same thing with a USB memory stick. I waited for a day for it
to dry out and got the data off it no problem, I cleaned the connector
with Craig labs deoxit more than one year later its still working fine.
I suspect the rinse cycle gets rid of any washing power and that the
sticks are well sealed.
