Check the upper picture on this page <http://www.novascotiaphotos.com/artist.html> Look above the index finger of the right hand and notice the sweeping curve running from pentaprism area back to the eyepiece area. That's why I think the camera is a Mamiya 645 and likely with digital back Front view here <http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/567925-REG/Mamiya_211_160_645_AFD_III_Medium_Format.html> Back view here <http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/605694-REG/Mamiya_310_150_645ZDb_Digital_SLR_System.html> The sensors for this camera are 48x36 vs 24x36 for 35mm. Canon, Nikon and Sony DSLRs can probably rival the pixel count assuming he has one of the smaller sensors but the 645 pixels will be twice as big. But the 35mm sensor can probably still do very well in good light and most of his photos are taken in pretty good light. We can ask Bob Whitmire whether he's done any really large prints off his new Nykon. How does it do on a 40" print?
