rotflol !!!
ps: sorry for the enormous amount of typos in my previous email -
wrote it in a rush, as in a car chase :-)
ps2: forgot to type what I consider a possible answer to John Voight's
statement in <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runaway_Train_%28film%29>
"What doesn't kill me makes me stronger" (who said that before, I
don't know - there's where I heard it for the first time). Keyword:
resilience <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_resilience>, if
anyone is intersted further, google Boris Cyrulnik
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boris_Cyrulnik>
Then one could be able to re-write that statement introducing this
concept, which is in itself metaphoric, borrowed from Physics.
Could be: What doesn't kill me, will be less traumatic the more
resilient I become / grow up.
Or in SFreud words: "Wo Es war, soll Ich werden". Seems different, but
Boris elaborates on Sigmund thoughts.
And no Carlos, UEco is not at all pedantic, we've discussed this
before ... maybe from an European point of view, but at least not
mine.
Moose, I will not try to convince you - each one here is intelligent /
smart enough to reason why yes or why not anything: but don't judge
anything too easily - that attitude is what I'd a call a truly
pedantic one (high self esteem w/ no self criticism, and narcissistic
personality structure, and easily vulnerable self esteem) . Showing
off only, is not pedantic ... well, that's all IMHO.
And don't mix / confuse any problem by itself, with the person
involved into any problem: that would be 'ad hominem', as John Locke
once said.
Well , now I'm going to see the flower ... :-)
Fernando.
