Chuck,
Your observation is spot on the money. For the weekend I carried
everything in a Domke F-5XB (one of the new waxwear bags which are very
sweet!) On the multipitch climb I just slung the camera (with the 25
prime) over my shoulder - it is an easy climb so I could get away with
that. Most of the time the camera is in a fanny pack for rock climbing.
for alpine stuff it is carried in the top pouch of my pack. The real
deal breaker on the Nik*n D200 was that I could not get it in and out of
that top pocket without taking the pack off!
