> My venerable Canon 900 printer finally was put to rest.

My 9000 is having "issues" with an oversensitive binding detector, but the
900 I bought off the bay is still chunking away. I was getting tired of
constantly refilling cartridges so I bought a continuous-feed system for
it. One of the colors plugged up, but the system has churned out page after
page after page... I was hoping to rebuild the 9000 with parts from the 900
but haven't been able to yet. I did replace one print head as it literally
wore out.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Canon printer due to the extremely low
operating cost it has afforded me for color text pages using bulk inks. I
shudder to think of the thousands of pages it has printed. I've been
contemplating getting a new household printer when my current stock of bulk
inks run out and they are getting low.
As to photo-quality printing, instead of buying a new printer, I decided to
outsource until further notice. The pro lab I use has been great for me and
the print quality is much higher than I had been getting before and my
per-print costs have decreased tremendously.
